Acid attack response training to be held in Islington

Angel Business Improvement District is hosting a training session on how to deal with acid attacks.
It will be delivered by police officers and is aimed at anyone who manages a public space or venue in the heart of Islington.
There were numerous acid attacks in the capital last year, including high profile incidents in Islington. There was one in Copenhagen Street near the Barnsbury Estate in April and another in St Paul’s Road, Highbury, in July.
The session will simulate an attack on revellers in a nightclub – as is what happened when Arthur Collins injured 22 people at a nightclub in Dalston last year.
It takes place at Islington Metalworks in Torrens Street on March 14 between 10am and 12.30pm. Places are offered first come, first served and people are advised appropriate clothing as there will be “lots of water”.
