Arsenal’s comprehensive 2-0 victory over Spurs in the North London derby raised more questions than answers about the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Both players’ contracts will expire next summer and speculation has been rife about where the pair’s futures lie.
Despite the Chilean scoring the Gunners second goal before half time and being a constant threat through the match, in which Arsenal thoroughly outclassed and outgunned the Lillywhites, boss Arsene Wenger dropped a hint about the club’s contract negotiations after the match.
And with Ozil performing magnificently against Arsenal’s bitter rivals, as well as providing an assist for the first goal, after his free-kick was headed in by fellow German Shkodran Mustafi Wenger was asked for an update on the talented pair after Saturday’s match.
He replied, alluding to the fact other clubs may have offered more money than Arsenal have to the duo: “Everything has to be right, they have to be happy.
“They love the club, they want to stay but other clubs out there offer good contracts as well.
“I know them well when they go on the pitch they want to win.
“I never question their commitment, of course, they can have bad games. But I never question their commitment.”
