Arsene Wenger’s team have been given one of the easier groups, but they will not be able to take any of their opposition lightly.

Arsenal have been draw alongside Belarus league champions BATE Borisov, German side Cologne and Serbian runners-up Red Star Belgrade in the group stages of the European cup competition in Monaco this afternoon.

The Gunners were placed in pot one with the likes of Zenit St. Petersburg, Lyon, Dynamo Kiev, Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao, Lazio, AC Milan, Viktoria Plzen, FC Salzburg, FC Copenhagen and Braga for the draw.

The competition will be a new challenge for the north London outfit as they’ve been in the Champions League for the last 16 years straight and will be hoping they can make it back into Europe’s elite competition next season.

The club will also be favourites to top the group and progress into the next round of the Europa Leagaue.
