Arsenal fans are in uproar about club supremo Stan Kroenke starting a new bloodsports TV channel that depicts killing elephants and other African beasts for sport.

Kroenke has been slammed by animal lovers after the club’s largest shareholder – which owns 67 per cent of the North London giants – masterminded the launch of My Outdoor TV describes as the “Netflix of the hunting world”.

The channel is set to broadcast programmes that will show hunters killing lions and other vulnerable African species in various ways – including by bows and arrows and guns.

It is owned by Outdoor Sportsman Group, part of Kroenke Sport Entertainment, and has already started broadcasting in the US, with UK launch looking to broaden its audience across the UK and other English speaking countries.

The MyOutdoorTV app was launched across Britain over the weekend.

In one scene, professional hunter Jana Waller exclaims: “It’s a good shot. Definitely, some liver and some lungs hit.”

Ms Waller adds “the shot was a little far back for me, but one shot did it,” before holding up the “beautiful heart shaped horns” of a hartebeest – also known as a korongi.

In another scene a man says to camera: “There’s no other feeling in the world quite like walking up on your bull elephant.”

The Gazette has declined to use images from the TV show’s Twitter account as they are deemed too distressing.

A spokesman for MOTV defended the programmes that will make up its coverage, and claimed that it will only show “ethical hunts”.

However, Philippa King, the chief operating officer of the League Against Cruel Sports, told The Times: “We’re living in a world now where most people can see how brutal and shameful trophy hunting is, yet the Arsenal boss is choosing to launch his sick TV channel in the UK.”

Socal media has been flooded with complaints over the move.

Victoria Scott told the Gazette: “I’ve paid for my season ticket already – I won’t spend another penny on merchandise or in the ground from here on in.”

Among the responses this newspaper could print, @goonerdanny13 added on Twitter: “The sooner [Kroenke] is gone the better’, with @garythegooner56 adding: “Nothing would give me more pleasure than to see him gone.”

Another account, Arsenal Related, @EdTA6 insisted: “This is the final straw as far as I’m concerned. In my opinion Arsenal fans should not give a single penny to Arsenal until Kroenke’s gone.”

The Gazette has requested a comment from the Arsenal press office.
