Arsenal hosted Watford at the Emirates on Saturday. Read on for Layth Yousif’s PLAYER RATINGS
Arsenal:
Petr Cech: 8 - Showed cojones to block bravely from Troy Deeney midway through the first-half, causing him to hobble off moments before the break.
Hector Bellerin: 7.5 - Put in a shift and has improved under Unai Emery. Still a work in progress, which is a measure of how talented he is. He just needs to show it consistently
Rob Holding: 7 - Second game in a week for the highly-rated centre-half who is improving all the time by gaining valuable match experience
Shkodran Mustafi: 6.5 Not a centre-half who will win you the title
Nacho Monreal: 7 - Showed cojones to recover after being badly fouled in a late challenge by Troy Deeney
Lucas Torreira: 7.5 - Deeney showed a lack of cojones to fall to the ground after the tiny Uruguayan clattered into him, leading to a booking
Granit Xhaka: 7 - Powerful left-footed shot blocked well by an alert Ben Foster
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 6.5 - Worked hard and deserved his ovation when replaced by Welbeck but unable to break the deadlock while he was on the pitch
Mesut Ozil: 7.5 – Excellent late goal by the creative talent
Aaron Ramsey: 6 - Replaced by Alex Iwobi midway through the second half after a difficult week. Good to see the fair-minded Emirates crowd give him a round of applause whatever the status of his contract negotiations
Alexandre Lacazette: 7 - Should have scored early on after pouncing on an error by Craig Cathcart but his chip went narrowly wide of Ben Foster’s far post. Pressured Cathcart into conceding
