Arsenal Ladies’ FA Cup heroes were welcomed to the town hall steps by Mayor of Islington Kat Fletcher on Friday.
The team won the cup for the 14th time after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley.
Cllr Fletcher, who was joined by young footballers from the borough for the celebration, said: “As the most successful women’s team in the country, Arsenal Ladies should be very proud of their achievements.
“We are delighted to have them in the borough and they are an inspiration to our girls and young women about the benefits of sport.
“It was a fantastic way to celebrate their success and an opportunity for our young sports players in Islington to meet and speak to female footballers of the highest level.”
