Frenchman Olivier Giroud has started to find his form for the Gunners and says he always believed he would

Olivier Giroud has said that his faith in his own ability never wavered after his difficult start to life at Arsenal in the opening month of the season.

Giroud, who has now scored six goals for the Gunners after his brace of headers in the 3-3 draw with Fulham on Saturday, is growing in confidence but admitted that he had had to show belief and patience after some questioned his ability following his 12m summer move from Montpellier.

“I feel better and better,” said the France international. “I am confident about my qualities. I never give up.

“When I didn’t score at the beginning of the season, I stayed confident, and I always work on my mind and my game. So it’s not a surprise for me.

“But I want to play a lot of good games like on Saturday and to win a lot of games with my new club. I have to score and to continue.

“I’m so happy to score two times but I can’t be happy because we drew.”
