Young people pitched to executives at an investment bank BBC Apprentice-style scheme. The two-week project ended on Saturday when contestants organised rival art exhibitions at House on the Rock in Tufnell Park Road, Tufnell Park to raise money for charity WaterAid.
Amie Buhari, founder of the Hebe Foundation, helped organise Junior Apprentice along with local youth clubs. It was designed to teach 13-19 year-olds “business and leadership skills”. As well as presenting a board game idea to M & G Investments directors, the youngsters had to sell donuts, set up events for residential homes and double their money in a day by implementing a business idea.
Participant Monique Boreland, 13, a semi-finalist, praised the scheme: “It boosted my confidence and helped my social and leadership skills.”
