An adventurer and broadcaster met some of the children she will tackle part of the Tour de France for this summer.
Hannah White, 30, who presents Channel 5’s Go Hard of Go Home, will take on the gruelling L’Etape du Tour challenge on July 20 in the French Pyrenean mountain range to raise funds for children’s charity Action For Kids.
The charity helps support disabled children through providing mobility equipment, learning, training and support and Hannah’s challenge has even captured the imagination of Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
On Tuesday she went to meet some young people getting fit cycling in Finsbury Park ahead of her ride.
“It feels amazing meeting the young people I am raising money for,” said Hannah.
“That is what I love so much about Action for Kids, you can see the benefit every day – for every pound you can see it helping and making a massive difference.”
Mayor Boris Johnson said: “I wish Hannah White the best of luck as she tackles the daunting and dizzying climbs of L’Etape du Tour to raise money and awareness for the fantastic charity Action for Kids.
“I applaud the outstanding work they are doing, in conjunction with Pedal Power, to help disabled young Londoners experience the joys and thrills of riding a bike.”
