Protesters will gather outside the Charlotte Despard pub this weekend to demonstrate against TfL’s plans to transform the Archway gyratory.
The protest in Archway Road will take place at 9.30am on Saturday February 6, six days after work began on the controversial removal of the one-way system.
TfL says the scheme – which includes making the one-way road two-way and turning the area into a more pedestrian and cycle-friendly zone – will make the area more attractive.
But campaigners have objected to parts of the plans, in particular the relocation of bus stands to Archway Road – where 50 buses an hour would make U-turns – and the banning of the right-turn from St John’s Way to Highgate Hill and Archway Road.
Over 1,000 people have now signed petitions against the plans.
