A restaurant has handed over 5,972 to a children’s charity following a fundraising night.
The Almeida in Almeida Street, Islington, held a dinner in aid of the NSPCC with all staff – including four chefs who each created their own dishes for the evening – giving up their time for free.
All profits from the event, which was attended by some 100 people, were donated to the children’s charity and the restaurant handed over a cheque.
Restaurant manager Sam Pollard said: “We are a neighbourhood restaurant and the head chef Alan Jones and I wanted to do something to engage the community and raise money for charity at the same time.”
