A woman was this morning in hospital with serious injuries two days after being hit by a night bus in the early hours of Saturday morning in Clerkenwell.
The collision, involving an N38 “Boris bus”, happened in Rosebery Avenue at about 1am, police said.
The driver did not stop after the crash but has since been tracked down. Police have not made any arrests and Transport for London confirmed the driver had not been suspended.
The 47-year-old pedestrian was today in a “serious but stable” condition, Scotland Yard said.
Shortly after the smash, Enfield councillor Jon Ball tweeted: “Nasty incident outside Greenwood House on Rosebery Avenue, Islington.
“Five police cars blocking road.”
Witnesses are urged to call the Met’s collision investigation unit in Alperton on 020 8991 9555.
