The Theodora Children’s Charity in Pentonville Road trains professional performers – called Giggle Doctors – to bring music, laughter and magical moments to over 30,000 sick, disabled and terminally ill children across England each year.

The TV star, famous for making millions laugh on shows such as Live at the Apollo, discovered the charity when she decided to use her skills to bring laughter to children in hospital. Since the first visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1994, the Theodora Giggle Doctors have visited over half a million children and hope that this number will continue to rise.

“I’m delighted to become a Patron for The Theodora Children’s Charity. Having trained as a Giggle Doctor myself in the past, I have seen first-hand the difference that the visits from these gentle and skilled professional performers make to children and their families in hospitals.”
