Commuter collapses at Angel Tube station

A COMMUTER had to be taken to hospital by ambulance after she collapsed at Angel Tube station on Friday morning.

The 29-year-old fell to the floor on the northbound platform as she waited for a Northern line train at 9.15am.

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene and escorted her up the escalator and onto the street. A waiting ambulance then took her to University College Hospital in Euston for treatment.

The cause of the collapse is believed to have been a pre-existing medical condition, and the woman is expected to recover well.

There was no disruption Tube services.

A London Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 9.20am on Friday to reports of a patient taken unwell at Angel Underground station.

“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. Our staff treated a woman - reported to be 29 years old - and took her to UCH.”
