Council moves to reduce HGV traffic in Nag’s Head, Holloway

Islington Council wants to control the number of heavy goods vehicles around the Nag’s Head shopping area of Holloway.
It comes after complaints about the amount of HGVs using Mayton Street and nearby roads to access Hertslet Road and nearby businesses.
The council wants to implement a scheme to control HGVs and general traffic flow, and has applied for funding from Transport for London (TfL).
Part of the scheme would see 7.5 tonne lorries banned in Mayton Street, Pakeman Street, Arthur Road, Annette Road and Roden Street - with access only permitted for deliveries and collections.
The council is inviting comments on its plans by January 25.
