Councillors and Jeremy Corbyn are demanding Transport for London (TfL) makes Crouch Hill station accessible for all.

With no step-free access, the Overground station is currently a “no go zone” for disabled people or those with mobility issues.

Tollington ward councillors and Islington North MP and Labour Party leader Mr Corbyn today wrote to TfL, asking for it to apply for Department for Transport funding to build step-free access.

In the 2015/16 financial year, 800,000 journeys were made to and from Crouch Hill, and new Cllr Anjna Khurana said it’s about time TfL acted.

Cllr Khurana, who has limited mobility herself, said: “It is clear from our conversations with residents that the lack of step free access makes Crouch Hill station a no-go zone for disabled people, those with limited mobility and anyone travelling with young children or luggage.

“It’s not acceptable for some of our residents to be unable to access public transport.”
