Crash causes gridlock in Islington

Islington was gridlocked this morning after a crash involving a car and motorcyclist.

It happened just before 9am on New North Road, near its junction with Basire Street.

The police and ambulance services were on the scene and a man was taken to hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 8:57am and sent an ambulance crew, which arrived on scene in under three minutes.

“We treated a man at the scene for chest pain and took him as a priority to a hospital in East London.”
