Celebrity adopters Carrie and David Grant - from TV’s Fame Academy - came to Islington to share the experiences with almost 200 people.

The event at Islington Assembly Hall, in Upper Street, on November 6 was aimed at inspiring potential adopters and to try and find possible families for more than 100 children in the borough who need a home.

Ms Grant said: “Our son is absolutely brilliant. He’s as much a part of our family as any of our other children. It’s only when we come to events like this that I remember he’s adopted.”
