A pregnant woman was stabbed outside Finsbury Park Station

A heavily pregnant woman was stabbed outside Finsbury Park Tube station on Friday in an apparently unprovoked attack.

The victim, who was in the final third of her pregnancy, was knifed in the face and suffereed shoulder injuries after the assault at around 6.35pm in Seven Sisters Road, underneath the railway bridge.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital but discharged following treatment with no life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and has been bailed to return to Islington Police Station on February 28.

Det Con Louise Elliott, investigation officer, said:” This was an horrific, unprovoked attack on a vulnerable and heavily pregnant woman. This incident has understandably left her severely traumatised.
