Victim in ‘serious but stable’ condition following knife attack
A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the back on Saturday night.
The knife attack took place at around 9pm in Highbury Park.
The victim, in his 20s, is said to be in a serious, but stable condition.
It is thought an argument broke out between two men, involving a woman, when one of them pulled out a blade.
Police and forensic teams were said to have flooded the area.
Officers are thought to have identified a suspect and a woman is already in custody following the incident.
Ward councillor Osh Gantly Tweeted a picture of the road covered with police tape and said: “Highbury Park closed due to stabbing outside William Hill”.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “Police were called to Highbury Park by London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended and found a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to the back.
“He has been taken to a central London hospital by London Ambulance Service where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Islington police continue to investigate.
