An address rife with anti-social behaviour and illegal drugs use has been closed down by the courts.
Police took action following numerous reports of excessive noise and drug dealing at the flat in Coltash Court, Whitecross Street, Finsbury, spanning several months.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Support team in Islington successfully obtained a closure order on the property at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court last Tuesday.
The address was raided by the Neighbourhood Support team and Bunhill Safer Neighbourhoods team in May 2012, resulting in four arrests and the seizure of a significant quantity of class A drugs heroin and crack cocaine. Two people have been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and await trial.
Pc Shane Towle from the Neighbourhood Support team said: “The joint hard work of our team, local residents, Islington Council and Old Street Housing helped us secure a successful closure order. Residents should be reassured that we take all reports of anti-social behaviour seriously.”
