A teenage boy is in a critical condition after being stabbed on board bus in Highbury this afternoon.

Police were called at 3.30pm to reports of a stabbing on a route 393 bus which stopped in Highbury New Park at the junction with Holmcote Gardens.

London Ambulance Service attended the scene along with the Air Ambulance, which landed in the playing fields of nearby Highbury Grove School in Highbury Grove.

A police spokesman said: “The victim, a male in his teens, has been treated at the scene. He is in a critical condition.”
