Three women have been arrested over the theft of a pub’s poppy appeal collection box.

The women, aged 18, 23 and 27, were held by police yesterday (Thursday) in connection with the theft from The Barnsbury in Liverpool Road, Barnsbury, on November 9.

They are also suspected of stealing clothes from a charity shop and the attempted theft of a laptop in a non-residential burglary. The women are in custody at a north London police station.

Celebrities including Rugby World Cup winner Kyran Bracken MBE and Anthony Costa from boyband Blue have rallied round in support of the bar since the incident.
