Two arrested in connection with rush hour axe attack in Upper Street

Police have arrested two teenagers on suspicion of GBH following an axe attack in Upper Street.

Police were called to the scene during rush-hour last night (Thursday) to reports of an 18-year-old who had been attacked with an axe.

The victim was taken to the Whittington Hospital where he was treated for arm injuries.

Another teenager, who suffered stab wounds to the back, was also being treated.

A Met spokesman said: “Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

“Officers from the Met’s Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating.”

He added that the injuries to the axe-attack men are not believed to be life threatening.
