The man accused of killing 17-year-old Vaso Kakko in Holloway in November will stand trial at the Old Bailey on May 31.

Uche Ejimonye, 20, appeared in the court via video link today and pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder. Ejimonye, of Roth Walk, Holloway, was remanded in custody.

Vaso, a former St Mary Magdalene Academy who lived in Newington Green, was stabbed to death on November 23 last year. It occured in Yoke Close, in the Shearling Way Estate off North Road.

He was one of three teenagers to be stabbed to death in Islington last year. Vaso’s death prompted Mayor of London Boris Johnson to call for more stop and searches to tackle knife crime.
