Two young men were stabbed less than a mile apart in Highbury on Friday night.

Police were called to reports of a fight at the junction of Ambler Road and Quill Street just after 7.30pm and found a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with injuries not said to be life-threatening.

One witness said dozens of police were at the scene. Three boys, two aged 15 and one 14, were arrested on two counts of suspicion of possessing a prohibited weapon and possession of an offensive weapon. They have been bailed until next month.

Hours later, at 3am on Saturday morning, a man in his 20s was stabbed in a car park off Petherton Road, Highbury.

He was also taken to hospital with injuries not said to be life-threatening.

Forensics officers could be seen combing the scene for evidence on Saturday morning, but no arrests have been made.
