An inmate staged a rooftop protest at Pentonville Prison this afternoon.
The prisoner, reported as calling himself “Titch”, was believed to be protesting about the conditions of the jail.
After around three hours, during which negotiators were called, he surrendered without a fight at around 2.50pm.
A prison service spokesperson said: “One prisoner at HMP Pentonville gained access to a workshop roof earlier today.
“The situation was safely resolved when the prisoner voluntarily came down.”
Pentonville has a troubled history, with a recent Independent Monitoring Board shedding light on squalor and drug fuelled violence.
