Adebola Alimi, of Medina Road, Holloway, was this week found guilty of possessing a handgun with intent to endanger life along with 21-year-olds Ricardo Miles and Daniel Ikumelo, both of Hackney.

They were found guilty by jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday where they will be sentenced in July.

Police have now released the grainy film showing the trio riding along Mandeville Street, Clapton, before Miles fires a round which narrowly misses and hits the ground just beside the unmarked car.

A second attempt to fire the gun was made but it jammed and was thrown away. The .45 calibre handgun was later recovered along with a knife which had also been dropped during the chase.

Police knew all three as gang members who were in dispute with rival gang members who they planned to attack in January last year.

DNA recovered from the bikes and the knife was both Alimi and Ikumelo’s.

Detective Inspector Neil Bradburn said: “Today’s result is the culmination of a great deal of hard work by Trident which has led to the conviction of three dangerous offenders.

“More than 1,000 London gang members are now either locked up or subject to legal restrictions as a result of activity by the Met’s Trident Gang Crime Command.

“This investigation clearly demonstrates that tackling gang-related violence remains a key priority for The Met and we will continue to target and convict those who choose to carry weapons and cause harm in London’s communities.”
