A bulletproof vest, 90 rounds of ammunition and £3,000 worth of class A drugs were seized during dawn raids in Islington yesterday morning.
Officers from Sadiq Khan’s new violent crime taskforce worked with the central north command – which covers Islington and Camden – to execute the warrants at two separate properties in “central Islington”.
No arrests were made, however, and enquiries are ongoing.
Ch Supt Ade Adelekan, head of the violent crime unit, said: “This seizure is the result of an ongoing investigation and reinforces our commitment to combat all levels of violence and violent offenders in London.
“We will continue to seek and bring to justice those responsible and remain steadfast in our pledge to make our communities safe places for everyone to live and work.”
