Two people were arrested in Holloway yesterday after plain clothes officers targeted drug use and anti-social behaviour following neighbour complaints.
The officers patrolled Hertslet Road, in the shadow of Morrison’s supermarket, and surrounding streets. They arrested one person for possession of Class A and Class B drugs, and another who was wanted on warrant.
Seven stop and searches were carried out, and the cops, from Finsbury Park Police, said they received further intelligence about drug supply in the area. They promised: “We will be acting on this”.
Sgt Matt Stringer said: “Today’s operation sends a message to drug users that they are not welcome and the police have a range of tactics to combat this.
“Anti-social behaviour through drug use is a ward and borough priority for the Safer Neighbourhood Teams and we remain committed to combating this. We will continue to utilise a range of tactical options to address this issue.”
