A man who rode round Marylebone on a moped threatening people with an axe was arrested in Highbury yesterday.
The 20-year-old was traced to an address is Riversdale Road after police received several reports of the man’s behaviour which included an attempt to snatch a mobile phone from a member of the public.
After a search of the property, a number of phones and a moped were recovered. The moped has been reported as stolen and officers arrested the suspect at about 3pm on suspicion of theft and theft of a motor vehicle.
The man has also been arrested in connection with an incident in which a mobile phone was snatched from a man by a moped rider in Crouch Hill April 15.
He remains in custody at a north London police station.
