A 15-year-old boy was recovering in hospital this afternoon after being stabbed.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said police officers came across the boy in Liverpool Road, near its junction with Lowther Road, at around 2.45pm.

He was suffering a single stab wound, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made and an investigation has been launched. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.

It comes just 24 hours after Islington Council announced it will inject £500,000 into next year’s budget to keep young people safe, in response to an increase in youth violence last year.
