The sentencing of Nashon Esbrand’s three killers has been delayed – for a second time.

On March 22, Dillon Zambon, 20, and Jhon Berhane, 18, were convicted by a jury of the Canonbury murder after an Old Bailey trial. A 15-year-old boy (“Defendant 3”) had pleaded guilty to Nashon’s murder before the trial began.

Sentencing was scheduled to take place on April 27, but was adjourned for further reports on Defendant 3, who inflicted the fatal stab wounds to the back of Nashon’s legs. That hearing was supposed to take place today – but has been delayed again until May 31.

Nashon, 27, had become a dad to a daughter only nine days before the attack. The court heard that on numerous occasions last year, he was targeted because he had spoken to police about an incident.

On August 24 last year, the three males (and two others who have not been caught) chased and cornered Nashon in Mitchison Road. The murder happened a few doors away from his parents’ house.
