A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in City Road that left a man unconscious and a woman with a broken nose.

Kamal Aman, 26, of Boreas Walk, Islington, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and common assault.

He was released on conditional bail to appear before Wood Green Crown Court on November 20.

The assault, at the road’s Old Street end, happened on August 13. The victim, named Micha, told the Gazette last week how she was on a night out with two friends when a man on a bicycle rode straight into them.

The cyclist then punched Micha, giving her a broken nose and concussion, before knocking out one of her friends, who was also left with concussion. She said the man then ran off, only to return asking her if she was OK. Micha then chased after him but he got away after swearing at her.
