A haul of cocaine worth £1million was seized from a cab in Finsbury Park on Wednesday night.

Police stopped a minicab in Finsbury Park Avenue at around 11.10pm and found a carrier bag filled with a kilo of cocaine in brick shaped parcels when they searched the vehicle.

Two men, aged 21 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and taken to a north London police station.

Det Sgt Paul Dempsey from Trident, the Met’s specialist gang crime unit who carried out the swoop, said: “These arrests send out a clear message to those who are involved in organised criminality and gang crime.”
