A heroin and cocaine dealer whose Holloway drug den was raided by police has been jailed for seven years.
Andrew Hitchman, 28, of Hertfordshire, was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court after pleading guilty to supplying Class A drugs.
In April, crime squad officers carried out a drugs warrant at a house in Westacott Close, Upper Holloway, discovering a large amount of cash and a ballistic vest. Police also found a rucksack in a nearby garden – with Mr Hitchman’s bank card inside – which contained more than 7,000 in cash and a kilo of cocaine and heroin.
Sergeant Derek Wright, of the crime squad, said: “We are pleased with this result, which has taken a large amount of dangerous Class A drugs off our streets.”
Islington police will now investigate whether a sum of 7,050 found during the raid is from the proceeds of crime.
