A Holloway supermarket has acknowledged it has a problem with anti-social behaviour after complaints about drug use on its premises.
Customers shopping at the Morrisons, in Hertslet Road, have complained about groups of people gathered on two stairwells by the emergency exits leading to the store carpark.
Last month a disgruntled Holloway shopper, Christopher Froome, told the Gazette: “People are sleeping in the stairs and the fire exit. It is a joke.
“Human faeces is on the walls and floors – there are needles. What is London coming to? It was so clean here 20 years ago.”
Cllr Gary Heather (Lab, Finsbury Park) said: “The residents are extremely concerned about this and they are very anxious for the police to stop it happening around here.
“This is a nice community and while there is some sympathy for the users I haven’t got any for the drug dealers.”
He added: “We want it stopped as soon as possible, as it’s been going on for months.”
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “We have a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour in and around our stores and are continuing to work with the local police to find solutions to the problems.”
