A detective working in Islington has been sacked after he admitted stalking someone.
Det Con Jose Lagares, of the central north unit, which also covers Camden, was dismissed without notice following the conclusion of a special case hearing on Friday.
The chair of the hearing found the allegations of discreditable conduct had been proven. Det Con Lagares had been sentenced at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in September for stalking someone.
He will now be placed on a “barred list” so he cannot work in law enforcement or governing bodies in the future.
