A teenager involved in the looting which hit Islington during the week of the London riots has pleaded guilty.

Reece Jackson, 18, of Holly Park Estate, Finsbury Park, admitted one count of violent disorder, three counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary at Wood Green Crown Court last Friday.

He was part of the mob which ransacked Micycle in Barnsbury Street, Islington, stealing more than �15,000 worth of bikes, and Food City, in Essex Road, Islington, where the gang caused damage and got away with around �600 cash as well as cigarettes.

He will be sentenced at a later date.

In a statement on the Micycle website said: “Well done to the local police who have been working hard to round them up. Also, we have had three bikes returned back to us or at least parts of them.”
