A man thought to be from Islington was stabbed on a bus while protecting an elderly lady and a pregnant woman from a gang of thugs.
The 32-year-old was punched and knifed by three people on the number 488 bus, between Dalston and Bromley-by-Bow, as it passed through Parnell Road, in Tower Hamlets, on Wednesday morning (September 14).
He had challenged the gang, aged between 16 and 20-years-old, when they became abusive toward fellow passengers
The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his stomach and leg, where his condition was described as serious but not life threatening. There have been no arrests and officers for the violent crime squad are investigating.
