Islington Police has a new borough commander.
Det Ch Supt Gerry Campbell, who has previously worked with the territorial policing command unit and has experience at a borough level in Newham, Barking and Dagenham and Wandsworth, said he was “very proud” to be appointed.
His predecessor, Ch Supt Mike Wise, who was seconded to policing the Olympics earlier this year, has taken up a new role in the Met.
Supt Simon Corkill had managed the borough’s policing on a temporary basis during the summer.
Det Ch Supt Campbell said: “The performance of the borough across a number of crime areas is very good and I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my predecessors for the fantastic job that they have done”.
