POLICE arrested 40 people in one day as they swamped the streets of Islington.
Hundreds of officers took part in last Wednesday’s operation, with arrests for offences including grevious bodily harm, drug dealing, public order and theft.
Chief Superintendent Mike Wise said: “Officers have been out in force on the streets to show the public that we are working hard to detect and deter crime.” We are committed to keeping the communities of Islington safe so we will continue to hold operations to drive down crime even more.”
Islington police officers were supported by other Met units including the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) officers, the cycle task force, the motorbike team, the special constables, the air support unit, and safer transport teams.
