Two Islington police officers were stabbed after being called to a fight at a flat in Liverpool Road last night, with two more also injured in the attack.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the shocking incident.
Officers were called to reports of a fight at a property just before 10.45pm. Scotland Yard said today that upon arrival they were “immediately met with hostility” and a man brandished a large knife.
A Taser was used in the incident, which resulted in two male officer being stabbed and two female officers sustaining injuries. One has been left with a possible fractured wrist while the other suffered a head injury.
Islington police posted on Twitter this morning saying: “Three officers have been discharged from hospital this morning. Our fourth officers remains in hospital with serious stab and slash injuries.

A second man, also 19, is being held on suspicion of affray.
A knife was recovered at the scene.
Supt Mike Hill of the Central North unit said: “This incident demonstrates the courage and professionalism officers show day in day out in what can often be a dangerous job. When officers respond to what can often be a difficult situation or go to assist members of the public they should not be met with violence, it is completely unacceptable.
“Whilst arrests have been made if you have any information that can assist police with their ongoing inquiries or witnessed the attack or what occurred prior to police attendance please get in touch.”
