The first ever crime summit in Islington is set to take place on Saturday.
Run by Islington Council and the police, the event is designed to give people a say in how crime and anti social behaviour is tackled in the borough.
A new Safer Neighbourhoods Board will also be launched, and members of the public can put themselves forward for one of four places on the panel.
Cllr Paul Convery, Islington Council’s executive member for community safety, said: “We’re committed to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in Islington, and that’s why we’re holding the borough’s first crime summit.
“Our residents have a vital part to play in helping keeping our communities safe – this is a chance for them to give their views on what is working well and what we can do better.”
Islington’s borough commander Det Chf Supt Gerry Campbell said: “We are resolute in our commitment to tackling and reducing crime and ASB in a sustained way on the borough. We can only do this with the community’s support.
“I welcome this first crime summit, which is a fantastic opportunity for the public to better understand our challenges and to influence how we tackle the borough’s crime problems.”
