A man was today charged with a murder committed nearly 19 years ago in Islington after being extradited from the United States.
Foyjur Rahman, 44, will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 28 charged with the murder of 25-year-old Abdus Samad in 1997.
Mr Samad, who was married and has two daughters, died following an incident in Alwyne Villas in Canonbury on May 21, 1997.
Mr Rahman was extradited on January 27 before being arrested by officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command on his arrival at Heathrow Airport, and subsequently charged.
