A man injured in a brawl outside a Highbury pub has died in hospital.
Victim Vitalis Katakinas sustained a serious head injury in the incident outside the White Swan pub in Upper Street on June 29, at about 11.30pm.
Matthew Powe, 29, of no fixed abode, appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 2 charged with GBH in connection with the incident.
Powe has been remanded in custody and will now appear in crown court later this year.
Drinkers at the pub said they were “shocked” by the tragedy, but added that Mr Katakinas was not a regular.
