POLICE seized cannabis worth an estimated 150,000 in the first of two successful drug raids in a week.
Officers found more than 400 marijuana plants growing in separate rooms at a house in Hornsey Road, Holloway, last Thursday - while a raid yesterday in Whitecross Street, Finsbury, brought a haul with an estimated street value of 16,000.
The properties both had special equipment and lights for cultivating the illegal crop.
Inspector Mike Cowie from the Safer Neighbourhoods Taskforce said: “This is part of an ongoing operation by police in Islington to tackle illegal drugs supply. Anyone engaging in criminal activity will be robustly pursued by police.”
Officers have been granted a closure order on the Hornsey Road premises from Highbury Corner Magistrates Court. Investigations continue.
