A suspected unexploded Second World War bomb was found in Finsbury Park today.
The object turned up in Wilberforce Road in the late morning and roads were closed by the emergency services.
Police said it is suspected to be a bomb but they don’t yet know for sure. It has been taken away and all roads have now reopened. It is not yet known how it was discovered.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: “We were called just before 11am to help out the police. We sent three fire engines and four rescue units. Around 20 firefighters were sent to the scene.”
