A jealous 32-year-old woman – who posed as a man to “become friendly” with a 17-year-old girl – arranged for a schoolboy to throw acid in the girl’s face after a fallout.
Joyce Irons, of Cornwall Road, Stroud Green paid the 13-year-old boy £5 to throw hydrochloric acid in Patricia Jenkins’ face in St Clement Street, Barnsbury.
Fortunately, she didn’t suffer any permanent injuries. But Irons, who had no previous convictions, was sentenced to three years in jail after admitting commanding the boy to throw a corrosive acid with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The court heard a dispute emerged when a watch of Ms Jenkins’ went missing, and Irons was accused of being the thief.
