A woman was punched in the face and had her phone snatched by a bike-riding thug in Islington yesterday.
The victim, a mother, was attacked and robbed in broad daylight while walking to work along the New River, close to Canonbury Road, at about 9.15am.
The attacker is described as a white male wearing a black hooded top and riding a black bicycle.
The violent assault summons memories of a scourge of mobile phone thefts which were rife in the borough a few years ago but had dropped dramatically over the last year.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call police on 101.
